MRCPsych Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
Dr Alexios Lappas is a Consultant in C&A Psychiatry and Member of The Royal College of Psychiatrists. He is the lead Clinician and Manager of the “ProsOpsi” Private Mental Health Institute, a Psychotherapy Clinic for Personal and Family Therapy, based in Thessaloniki, 10 Agias Sofias Str. Dr Lappas welcomes international or transcultural families and can collaborate with clinicians abroad for therapeutic continuity in the treatment and the received services.
Dr Lappas worked in UK as a Psychiatrist Trainee and completed his Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2007.
His clinical work at a period of intense transformation and upheaval within the British society, offered an understanding in the areas of religion and racism, immigration and intercultural understanding and the increasing violence amongst teenagers.
Since his return to Thessaloniki, Greece in 2008, he has been working towards raising public and students’ awareness in mental health issues, through articles and mainstream media. Dr Lappas has been invited to seminars and lectures.
He is a member of the Hellenic Association for the Study of Internet Addiction Disorder. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the academic journal "Psychis Dromoi" («Ψυχής Δρόμοι»), a multidisciplinary effort of dialogue between the sciences of Theology and Mental Health Sciences (Psychiatry, Psychology, and Psychotherapies). He has been a scientific associate for child protection residential units of Northern Greece. He is the Clinical Manager of the Hellenic Children Village, Filyro, Greece, since 2010. In August 2016 he founded the “ProsOpsi” Mental Health Institute.
